10 Motivational Quotes to Get You Through Your Day

Quotes are my absolute favorite. Seriously, obsessed is an understatement, I can’t make it through a day without reading them. From the cheesy and comedic ones that make me laugh harder than they probably should, to the wisdom of individuals who knew how to say the right thing at the right time… I soak up quotes every. single. day. Even though I love coming across new ones, I always make it a priority to revisit the ones that get me out of bed every day. So, here’s a glimpse of the therapeutic words that always leave me smiling and empowered!

“It’s better to be the one who smiled, than the one who didn’t smile back.”

I wholeheartedly strive to live and breathe this quote. The simple power of a smile is something that cannot be explained. I try to encourage everyone to give a stranger a smile, it might be the only one they see and their life could be changed forever!

“Everything happens for a reason, even if we never find out those reasons.”

You accidentally shut off your alarm and missed your first class? You’re running late and got stuck at every red light? You didn’t get that internship you interviewed for? You lost relationships that you thought you’d have forever?

Yes, all of these things suck.

Maybe that extra hour of sleep was what you needed to dodge that cold everyone was trying to avoid?

Maybe you hit every red light because you needed to slow down and find your patience?

Maybe you didn’t get that internship because there’s something better out there that deserves your talent?

Maybe you lost those relationships because they weren’t real to begin with?

Sometimes, we never truly find out why things happen the way they do. But that’s one of the most brutally honest realizations in this world-focus on the positive! After all, life is all about perspective.

“Small minds can’t comprehend big spirits. To be great, you have to be willing to be mocked, hated, and misunderstood.”

This quote serves as a constant reminder to not let anyone tell you your idea is wrong simply because someone doesn’t understand it or agree with it. Be confident in your thoughts and abilities and don’t be afraid to share them with the world!

“I’ve made peace with the fact that the things that I thought were weaknesses and flaws were just me. I like them.”  -Sandra Bullock

(This may or may not have been the lock screen on my phone for months.) I’ve learned that one of the most rewarding characteristics a person can have is being able to fall in love with their imperfections. Though easier said than done, when you let go of the constant zest for perfection and learn to laugh at yourself, life becomes much more enjoyable!

“If it is important to you, you will find a way. If not, you will find an excuse.”

There will always be a reason not to do something. Whether that’s going to the gym more often (lol whoops?), reading a new book, trying something out of your comfort zone, or bettering yourself in your current passions. It’s easy to fall into the traps that those excuses set up for us, but we find our real potential when we ignore the thousands of reasons telling us not to do something, and find the one reason telling us to go for it!

“Close your eyes and imagine the best version of you possible. That’s who you really are, let go of any part of you that doesn’t believe it.”

Throw away the negativity and envision everything you want for your future self. You are capable of achieving those successes- don’t settle for anything less!

“Your life is your story. Write well, edit often.”

Everything from the choices we make, to the relationships we form, to the goals we set for ourselves, is the result of telling a story. We only get one life, therefore, we only have one chance to tell our stories. Make them worth reading and remembering!

“Enjoy the little things, one day you’ll look back and realize they were the big things.”

This is probably one of the most cliché quotes out there, but it speaks volumes. The little things that don’t seem significant at the time will turn out to be the things that take up the most room in our hearts. Soak up everything this life and the people in it have to offer!

“I’d rather have a life of ‘oh wells’ than a life of ‘what ifs.'”

From the legend himself…

We won’t get anywhere in this life if we fear failure. Shoot for every opportunity that life presents you with, even if it makes you uncomfortable. The fear of the unknown is very real, but no one wants to look back and regret not taking a risk, it could turn into something spectacular!

“I’m ballsy. I have guts. I’m not afraid of anyone. I think that makes me feel powerful. The only person I’m afraid of is myself.” -Adele

ADELE–ugh, I love her, I love her, I love her. The woman is a genius. I admire not only her musicianship, but the way she presents her authentic and insightful soul to the world. She speaks nothing but the truth when she admits the only person she fears is herself. I think everyone can relate to this on some level, as we are all afraid of ourselves at one point or another. Whether that be insecurities or personal frustrations/battles, these obstacles are inevitable. Being comfortable and confident in myself is an ongoing learning process, but shoutout to my girl Adele for making it a tad bit easier.

~Find the people who inspire you to the core. Take the time to listen to their words and observe their actions. We have so much to offer each other!~
